New BMW i5 Review: Is electric 5 Series the best yet?
Переглядів 11 тис.14 днів тому
The BMW i5 is a significant car for a number of reasons, not least because it represents the biggest evolution of the 5 Series line-up in its 52-year history. But does fitting an electric powertrain improve what is regarded by many not only as the best executive car on the market, but one of the best cars on sale full-stop? If you're in the market for an electric SUV from Mercedes, you are not short of choice. New Toyota C-HR Review: 2024's best small crossover?

The second-generation Toyota C-HR must be one of the most striking crossovers that's ever been launched. 2024 Tesla Model 3 Review: Improved in almost every way

The 2024 Tesla Model 3 is a refreshed version of one of the UK's most popular electric cars. Similar in size to a BMW 3 Series or Audi A4, the Model 3 in some ways competes in a very traditional sector of the market. However, as a fully electric offering, it has for a long time been fairly unusual in this class. In recent years we've seen new electric competitors to the Model 3 emerge such as t...
Does Mazda's quirky EV finally make sense now it's half price?

It's fair to say that the Mazda MX-30 has not really caught on as far as the UK electric car market is concerned. With a starting price from new of around £30,000, a real world range of 100 miles on a good day, and an unconventional rear door layout that compromises practicality, it was fairly easy to find fault with this particular EV. However, with prices of used models now at around £14,000 ...

    Excellent review I love how you revisted what Citroën ought to be. Although given the C5X, I would compare that car to an XM. Wish the C5X (or XM, etc) were EVs tho! Love the Citroen BX, all Citroens really. In earnest, BX had the kamm back profile of a Prius, the horsepower of a Prius, but some 400kg lughter.

    I had to smile after watching this. After looking at Mini electric, there are still several drawbacks. Cost, range, to name the most obvious. I’m lucky enough to have owned 3 MX5s, the latest in the same colour in this review, Zircon Sand. But yet, the Mini Electric Convertible is the closest you will get to a “sporty” looking car. The battery size is the limiting factor. Thank you for the review. Oh, and the sound system is wonderful very important to me.

    Beware of any Renault cars. I bought a Clio E Tech 1,5 months ago in Poland and already twice have been broken. Torn cables were found and there were short circiuits. I was very lucky there was no fire and I’m still alive. The lowest quality production level that I’ve ever seen.

    I have an LBX and my daughter has a top of the line Yaris Cross which I drive regularly. The Yaris Cross alerts are 10x the frequency of the LBX, which only alerts me when I’m not looking straight ahead enough - like when you are looking for a park. The comfort levels for ride are poles apart as is cabin noise. Although I have only had my LBX for a few weeks, the only downside in comparison is the litres / 100km where the Yaris Cross clearly wins. Here in Australia the wait for a new Yaris Cross is 18 months whereas the LBX is available for immediate purchase.

    The Lexus brand doesn't seem relevant any more. There were brilliant products like the original LS400 and the occasional excellent examples but now they are just tarted up Toyotas. British buyers want to know they are getting something special for the extra money and this no longer applies with the dilution of the brand.

    Went for the LBX instead of the Yaris Cross cause its much quieter. From listing (in Germany) highest Yaris and LBX are ~3000€ difference. But Yaris Cross has (in Germany) in every higher trim a purple/taupe Interior that is total stupid.

  • @SOMEONE-ME
    @SOMEONE-ME 4 дні тому

    Yaris Cross in best trim is still plastic fantastic. No near match to LBX, which has about every element further refined. You need to seat in both to experience it. Driving (handling) is also way more pleasant in LBX. LBX is expensive, but every small car with those features is (all German manufactures are actually abandoning this "tiny" segment). LBX has basically every system from 2x more expensive RX model, so it has to cost. One thing which I miss are ventilated seats. Is it worth extra? Up to everyone's own decision. It's not just Yaris with Lexus badge for sure.

  • @Sham1r0
    @Sham1r0 4 дні тому

    The thing no one is talking about is the reliability. You pay more money upfront to save on costa further down the road. These hybrids will last you for the next 10 years with fluid and filter changes only so think about that

  • @DJAYPAZ

    There is no big issue with the LBX. A detailed comparison between the LBX and the Yaris shows far more changes between the two than mentioned in this short review.

    • @SOMEONE-ME
      @SOMEONE-ME 4 дні тому

      List of changes is vast (excluding what is visible, so body, interior etc.). Actually it's easier to say what is the same which is: frame (but LBX has extra glue and extra elements for rigidity), 12.3inch cockpit, gear changing handle and maybe few small bits. What is different: better seats with memory, 2x stronger battery, engine is further modified and has balancing shaft, different suspension, steering (including shock absorption system), aluminium wheel stubs, acoustic windows in higher trims and much better sound insulation overall, seals for front bonet and doors, special break system for controlling horizontal posture of the car, improved driving assist systems, more efficient wipers, ML audio system (extra paid) and more. Even plastic covers underneath are different. All made in Japan from different elements (things like exhaust) than Yaris Cross which comes from crap French (this factory as for Toyota standard is not the best) factory. It's not Yaris Cross, same way as ES is not a Camry, even if they also share same platform. Not sure in UK, but in EU every new car has (homologation requirement) speed limit alert and it can't be turned off permanently (it can, but will come back with car restart).

    • @DJAYPAZ
      @DJAYPAZ 4 дні тому

      @@SOMEONE-ME Thanks for a comprehensive reply. In Australia we only get two specifications, Luxury and Luxury Sport. The ML audio system is only available in the Luxury Sport spec which is 4wd.
